As Founder, Owner, and Chief Explorer of Journey Beyond, Phillip has spent over 40 years exploring Africa’s landscapes, cultures, and hidden corners, transforming firsthand knowledge into tailor-made experiences for discerning travelers around the world.
One of the moments that shaped his connection to the continent forever was seeing Botswana’s Okavango Delta for the first time, an experience that still stays with him today.
Over the years, Phillip built Journey Beyond with a clear philosophy: every journey should feel unique, thoughtful, and immersive, never one-size-fits-all. His approach combines comfort, style, safety, and authentic local insight, creating experiences designed around each traveler’s personal story.
Among the places closest to his heart is Sabora Plains in Singita Grumeti Reserves, while Madagascar remains on his personal list to revisit for a deeper exploration.
