PONANT Chartered by Hankyu Travel
For decades, PONANT has brought together the spirit of exploration and the art of refined travel, creating journeys where remote destinations can be discovered without compromising on comfort, gastronomy or attentive service. Aboard its intimate expedition ships, guests can go beyond the traditional cruise experience, reaching places larger vessels cannot, accompanied by naturalists who bring the surrounding nature, culture and history to life.
We are delighted to introduce PONANT, chartered by Hankyu Travel and now part of the TL Portfolio. This charter cruise brings a truly distinctive Japan experience to you and your clients.
In 2027, Le Jacques-Cartier will be exclusively chartered for three 13-day journeys through Japan during the celebrated cherry blossom season, offering access to charming islands, coastal destinations and lesser-known corners of the country that larger ships cannot reach. With just 184 guests, the expedition-style ship combines an intimate atmosphere, refined hospitality and the spirit of exploration.
Departing March 13, March 25 and April 6, 2027, the three itineraries explore destinations including Kobe, Yokohama, Miyajima, Hagi, Yaizu, Yakushima, Amakusa and Busan, South Korea. Along the way, guests will experience Japan beyond its classic highlights, with carefully curated cultural encounters, tea ceremonies, kimono experiences, Japanese cuisine and meaningful connections with local communities.
Adding an extra layer of exclusivity, the charter features experiences created specifically for these journeys, from the SAKE Relay, bringing regional sake onboard, to exclusive fishing-port experiences and tuna-cutting demonstrations.
We are excited to welcome this exceptional Japan journey to our portfolio and introduce our partners to a new way of discovering the country.
